Based on the classic Orthman ADJUST-A-RATE™ seed rate systems, the redesigned ADJUST-A-RATE IV™ hydraulic seed rate control system can transform and upgrade any planter, new or used, into a precision seeding machine. The ADJUST-A-RATE™ IV features the quickest and most accurate seed rate control technology available in the market.
The ADJUST-A-RATE™ IV control speed and response time are simply the fastest available. Whether initiating movement from a stopped position or normal operating speed of 5.5 mph, the ADJUST-A-RATE™ IV will achieve your desired seed rate within one second or less than one foot of implement movement.*

The Orthman ADJUST-A-RATE™ IV hydraulically driven seed rate control system adds accuracy, reliability, and versatility to your planting operation. The console features three operator chosen population rates providing immediate on-the-go rate control for maximum population versatility.
The ADJUST-A-RATE™ IV planter drive is compatible with nearly every existing planter on the market so installation requires no modifications to your existing implements.
The ADJUST-A-RATE™ IV offers the benefit of variable seed rate control to rid you of writing prescriptions or manual adjustments in the field. The system is equipped to communicate with prescription mapping software and three rates to allow you to quickly adjust from a population of 30,000 to 16,000 as you enter and exit pivot corners with the toggle of a switch. It’s that easy.
The console includes features such as easy legible controls, warning indicators, and heavy duty dial and toggle switches. A single toggle switch with three rates control user determined population rates. Three toggle switches control up to three planter drives separately.
The simplified mounting system allows for simple mounting to nearly any planter in agriculture. A manual control mode allows the operator to run the planter to lubricate chains, clean out seed hoppers, etc. Fertilizer rates can be adjusted in proportion to population rates for accurate application and cost effectiveness of integrated fertilizer application.
The hydraulic Drive and Control Platform eliminates seed skips due to the drive wheel leaving the ground when in severe terrain or terraces. The ADJUST-A-RATE™ IV alleviates losing drive chains and having to change transmission sprockets when changing fields. Minimal moving parts combined with a hydraulic oil filter provide years of maintenance free use.
